Dear visitor,
this website has the primary intent to activate contacts with all Schnickel(s) in the world and to share
information with the hope to discover the remote origins of this family. In the same time this could allow young generations not to loose knowledge of their past and let them know the existance of some far relatives living in
Europe or somewhere else in the world.
The second scope is to share information, experiences, ideas and images with friends. Feel free to email me to have access to actual hidden pages!
Thank you and my kindest regards.
Lorenzo
Schnickel
I remember that when I
was a child my grandmother told me the story of my family name. She said that
Schnickel's origins were German and even in this country it was a quite infrequent
family name.
At that time we were in mail contact with some far relatives who lived there
and she believed they were the only other members of our dynasty.
Thanks also to their aid I was able to reconstruct the family tree back as
far as the beginning of 19th century.
The collected data proved that there were only members in the Italian branch
(my father, me and my children) and in the German one (the three sons of Walter
Schnickel and Erika Scholz, namely Michael, Axel, Erich and their descendants.
I was therefore convinced
to have completed the familiar picture for approximately 200 years when, with
great surprise, as a result of some Internet searches, I discovered the existence
of a significant number of Schnickel and Schnickels in the US.
At this point, moved by
curiosity, I tried to get in touch with some of them hoping to find a link
with my data, but yet without success.
Now there are clearly
two possibilities:
It would be nice to be able, thanks to your help, to bind together new informations to extend further in the past our family history.
I invite therefore all those by the name of Schnickel, Schnickle or Schnickels to leave a message with their history and memories of their parents. I will then send a code to enter the restricted part of this website where you will be able to consult the existing family tree and other interesting facts.
If you have new information or any suggestion, I appreciate to receive your e-mail.
Please send it to: lorenzo@schnickel.org
I will reply ASAP.
Thank you!
